About Hope for Children Thrift Store

We are a not-for-profit thrift store located in the heart of downtown Langley. Inspired by the stories of hope and restoration at Mexican orphanages overseen by Children of Hope, a group of volunteers started this thrift store in 2015. Since opening in February of that year, we have donated over $1.2 million! 100% of our profits go to support these ministries.

As a local thrift store...

we are able to impact the community in a variety of ways. In addition to the fair and affordable pricing on new and gently used merchandise, we are able to offer free food items each day. The type and quantity of groceries vary from day to day. They are items that have reached their sell by date and need to be moved quickly. We aim to share with as many people as possible and so we limit the number of items each visitor may take.

Thrifting is the ultimate GREEN activity. Reselling rather than dumping means these items stay out of the landfill. While we are not able to sell every item that is donated, we sell as much as we can. Clothing and textiles that do not meet our standards get picked up and recycled.

As a non-profit organization...

every dollar we make goes to the ministries we support. Of course we have rent, utilities and day to day expenses to pay for, but our large team of volunteers enables us to keep our costs low and contributions high.

Over the years we have been able to contribute to solar panels for an orphanage to drastically reduce energy bills, reliable vehicles to get the children to and from doctor and social services appointments, upgrades to the facilities in the way of washing machines, kitchen appliances and security walls, to name just a few.
